Davel Police are searching for the driver of a truck that was involved in an accident in which the driver of a VW Golf died on 15 May.

The incident took place on the N17 between Ermelo and Davel.

According to Sgt Portia Dhladhla, spokesman of Davel Police, on arrival at the scene, the police found the overturned Golf with two people, the driver and another occupant on the ground.

“The driver of the vehicle was certified dead on the scene.”

ER24 transported the other patient – who sustained critical injuries, to Bethal Hospital.

She added that a truck was also found at the scene, but that the driver of the truck was missing.

The cause of the accident is still unknown.

Davel Police, ER24 and All City towing services were on the scene.
