Two people arrested in connection with dealing in drugs

Capt Carla Prinsloo, spokesman for Ermelo Police, said two men, aged 26 and 45 was arrested on 26 May at the intersection of Oosthuize- and Robbertson Street.

Much has been written in recent years about the dangers of drug abuse and addiction and recently residents of Ermelo voiced their concern for public use of drugs in De Jager Street and Oosthuize Street.

On various occasions the Highvelder drove by the said hot spot for drug use, where a group of men have been spotted injecting each other.

A resident who want to remain anonymous raised questions about the dangers of sharing needles among each other and the possibility of needles left on the side of the road.

The police reacted on information received and arrested the men in connection with dealing in drugs.
 
“The suspects was found with heroin and cocaine with an estimated value of R 9 000.”
