GSDM concludes consultations on 2021/22 IDP and budget draft

“Following the tabling of the 2021/22 draft of the IDP and budget at its council meeting - held on 25 March, the district ran consultations with stakeholders in local municipalities presenting the draft for comments and input,” Ms Ka Dube said.

The Gert Sibande District Municipality (GSDM) concluded their consultations on the 2021/22 draft of the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and budget.

According to Ms Bongi Ka Dube, spokesman of GSDM, the district is at an integration where it is matching its financial resources for the financial year 2021/22 with the priorities identified and whereby stakeholders work out what needs to be managed for the projects to make an impact on communities before the final IDP and budget by the end of the financial year.

“Following the tabling of the 2021/22 draft of the IDP and budget at its council meeting – held on 25 March, the district ran consultations with stakeholders in local municipalities presenting the draft for comments and input,” Ms Ka Dube said.

The stakeholders in attendance were:

• The executive mayors

• Speakers

• Whips of council

• Members of the mayoral committee

• Wards councilors

• Ward committees

• Community development workers

• Administration teams Consultations took place at Msukaligwa Municipality on 16 April.

According to Ms Ka Dube the projects specifically for Msukaligwa were:

• Water quality testing

• Sanitation (maintenance of VIP toilets)

• Re-surfacing of the R39 towards Morgenzon

• Re-graveling and blading

• Construction of 7,1km pipeline and installation of 1Ml/d package plant in Sheepmoor

• Msukaligwa Bulk Water Supply Scheme (Breyten Cluster 2 & Davel Cluster 3)
