eMbalenhle cops receive certificates for a job well done

“This is our responsibility as heads of police units to unite members and encourage them, not to divide them but to make them wish to come to work even if he or she is on leave,” said Lieut-Col Tshabalala.

eMBALENHLE – Lieut-Col Andries Tshabalala keeps the police morale high since he came to the eMbalenhle Police Station last year.

This is according to Const Busi Mthethwa who received a certificate of appreciation last week. She was involved in the arrest of men who were busted for cable theft.

She spotted the men stripping the plastic covers off copper cable and alerted her colleagues two weeks ago.

Lieut-Col Tshabalala said he gave Const Mthethwa the certificate to show that her commitment to fighting crime is noticed and as a communication officer for eMbalenhle Police, she never overlooks crime that she heard was taking place in the township.

Lieut-Col Tshabalala said as the detectives’ head, he is responsible to unite all police components of the police station.

“The members at the Community Service Centre open cases, attend to complaints and make arrests, then the dockets are allocated us, the detectives, to investigate and then hand over the case to the court for prosecution through the information from CSC and police who had worked hard to arrest suspects.

“This is our responsibility as heads of police units to unite members and encourage them, not to divide them but to make them wish to come to work even if he or she is on leave,” said Lieut-Col Tshabalala.

Another officer who received a certificate is Sgt Vusumuzi Zulu. He responded to a complaint of a tavern patron who was dancing around with a gun. Sgt Zulu chased down the suspect and arrested him.
