{WATCH} – Three trucks and double cab bakkie torched near Acacia during protest

Ermelo police are still on the scene where three trucks and a double cab bakkie were set alight.

Another truck has also been damaged according to police.

According to Capt Carla Prinsloo, spokesman for Ermelo police, the road has in the meanwhile been opened again, although she cautioned motorists to take extra care when driving in this area.

She said it is not yet clear as to how the vehicles were stopped and set alight.

As soon as more information is obtained, readers will be updated.

ERMELO – The road from Ermelo to Piet Retief near Acacia is closed due to protest action on August 4.

It is alleged that three trucks have been set alight near Acacia.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes and to avoid the area.

Ermelo police are on the scene.
