Travel warning for motorists using the road from Ermelo to Piet Retief

Three trucks and one bakkie were set alight and one truck was also damaged by protesters just the night before.

ERMELO – A travel warning for motorists using the road from Ermelo to Piet Retief was issued by the South African Community Crime Watch (SACCW) group of Gert Sibande, at 07.49am on August 5.

Three trucks and one bakkie were set alight and one truck was also damaged by protesters just the night before.

Van Wettens Towing Services has been working all night to clear the road.

The last burnt truck is currently being removed from the road.

According to information from SACCW, traffic is congested.
