Ermelo Police arrest five people in connection with recent protest in Ermelo

It is alleged that the incident erupted following a labour related dispute at a construction site at Merino Mall in Ermelo.

Ermelo police arrested five people on August 5 in connection with the protest action in Ermelo on August 4.

The five suspects, aged between 30 and 58  are due to appear before the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on August 10.

This comes after three trucks and a bakkie were set alight while two other trucks were also damaged.

It is alleged that the incident erupted following a labor-related dispute at a construction site at Merino Mall in Ermelo.

A case of public violence was opened, fortunately, no injuries were reported.
