Intelligence-driven operation leads to arrest of suspect

The estimated street value of the drugs is R50 000.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on Saturday, August 14 in connection with possession of drugs.

According to information, police and the K-9 units of Standerton and Ermelo were successful in searching the suspect, who was found in possession of drugs.

Information indicated he was travelling from Gauteng to Mpumalanga.

A white, Toyota Quantum matched the description and was stopped on the R23.

The estimated street value of the drugs is R50 000.

The suspect will appear in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, August 16.

The provincial commissioner of police, Lieut-Gen Semakaleng Manamela applauded the police for their resilience in rooting out drugs in the community.
