UPDATE: Secunda Flying Squad arrests six suspects in courier heist

One man is critically injured after hijacking.

The Secunda Flying Squad apprehended six suspects in connection with a heist that happened on the road between Bethal and Kriel at about 09:00 this morning, August 18.

Gunmen hijacked drivers of Ram Couriers, shooting one driver in the head.

The suspects were in a white Quantum and a grey Etos.

The Secunda Flying Squad was informed. They pursued the Quantum and arrested the six occupants.

They also recovered a firearm that was used in the robbery.

The suspects are in custody and cases of hijacking and attempted murder, as well as a case of being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition were opened at Kriel Police Station.

The driver who was shot in the head is currently in critical condition.
