Emergency services recover cash van from dam

The cash in transit vehicle that was targeted yesterday on the road between Bethal and Kriel was recovered today, September 7.

The driver of the cash van decided to drive into a farm dam where the suspects bombed the cash vehicle inside the water.

Delta1 Rescue Diving, Mpumalanga Inland Water Police and the Lydenburg K9 Search & Rescue unit were asked to assist with a vehicle and asset recovery.

The recovery was successful.

A G4S cash transit vehicle was targeted tonight on the road between Bethal and Kriel.

According to information on social media groups, shots were fired.

Farmers in the region allegedly informed emergency services.

A white Porsche Cayenne and silver BMW escaped in the direction of Middelburg.
