Mr Hlolweni describe Mr Van der Merwe as one of the founding member of SAPROMO, a moving political library, teacher of Africanism and law.
“We want to see the law take its course and find the killers of Mr Van der Merwe. We are not yet healed by the passing of Mr King Mahlangu, who was also shot dead some years ago and we don’t know who is next.
“Whoever wants to kill SAPROMO by assassinating its leaders will never succeed, said Mr Hlolweni.
Mr Mahlangu, an activist, a former Sanco leader and the general secretary of the Sakhisizwe Progressive Movement, was shot and killed in Middelburg on Tuesday, August 29, 2016.
He was on his way from a Practical Radical Economic Transformation (PRET) launch in Nkomazi when he was murdered.
