Teacher’s case to go to regional court

His bail conditions include that he does not have any contact with persons under the age of 18 years or any of the victims.

The teacher who is currently facing 18 charges of sexual assault, self sexual assault and compelled sexual assault on five learners under the age of 18 years appeared in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, September 14.

The matter was remanded to October 13 for a regional court date.

Thereafter the matter will be transferred to the Secunda Regional Court.

The teacher was released on R20 000 bail on June 1.

His bail conditions include that he does not have any contact with persons under the age of 18 years or any of the victims.

He is also not allowed to engage on any social media platforms.

The teacher was arrested on May 22 after the learners had come forward with the allegations.
