Vandals target Northern Water Treatment Works in Msukaligwa

A media release from the Gert Sibande DA stated that the Msukaligwa Local Municipality is a dysfunctional one, as are three others in the Gert Sibande District.

ERMELO – The Northern Water Treatment Works’ 350 air valve was vandalised recently.

According to Mr Mandla Zwane, the spokesman fir the Msukaligwa Local Municipality, the network team made an assessment for repairs.

He said the following areas would be affected: Longhomes, Everest, Ermelo mine houses, Thembisa, Ermelo East and a portion of the central business district of Ermelo.

A media release from the Gert Sibande DA stated that the Msukaligwa Local Municipality is a dysfunctional one, as are three others in the Gert Sibande District.

According to Cllr Muso Kubheka, DA caucus leader in the Gert Sibande District Municipality, in Msukaligwa, 6.1% of households are without access to water.

“There is inadequate water supply at Davel, Breyten, Chrissiesmeer, Warburton, Lothair, Sheepmoore and farm areas,” he said.
