Five vehicles collide resulting in two deaths and several injured

CAROLINA – Five vehicles were involved in an accident which resulted in two deaths and several people getting injured on the road between Carolina and Badplaas on September 30.

According to Sgt Thabang Mokwana, the spokesman of Carolina police, the information they had at their disposal indicated that a taxi driver transporting numerous passengers, lost control over the vehicle, allegedly because of mist on the road.

“The taxi began swerving and overturned,” he said.

Four other vehicles collided with the taxi.

He added one of the passengers from the taxi was declared dead on the scene as he sustained severe head injuries.

The other injured passengers were transported by ambulances to the Carolina Hospital.

Another person died in hospital.
