Man who almost ran children over in Nomdeni, still out on bail awaiting next court appearance

Mr Boshoff still out on bail and to make his next court appearance on November 2.

ERMELO – Mr Barend Daniel Boshoff (50) appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on charges of attempted murder on September 3.

Highvelder previously reported when police initially arrested him when he allegedly nearly ran children and residents over at Nomdeni on January 29.

Mr Boshoff made his first court appearance on February 1.

According to Capt Carla Prinsloo, spokesman of the Ermelo police, he was released on R1 000 bail.

In the initial article a source, who agreed to speak to Highvelder on condition of anonymity, said, “The motorist drove straight at us, crashing into and knocking over a pole in the process.”

One resident allegedly sustained injuries while jumping out of the vehicle’s way.

The case has been postponed to November 2.
