eMzinoni Police are looking for suspects who hijacked and shot a 49-year-old man on the night of Thursday, October 7.
According to Sgt Cythia Mtsweni, the incident took place at Ext 3, eMzinoni, where a bakkie was hijacked and the driver was shot dead.
The deceased is the father of a policeman from eMbalenhle.
Sgt Mtsweni said the police are investigating cases of hijacking and murder, and that no one has yet been arrested.
“eMzinoni turned into be a playing ground for criminals,” said Sgt Mtsweni.“Recently Mr Sputnik van der Merwe (63) was also shot and killed at his home.
“We are working tirelessly to arrest the suspects soon and to bring them to justice,” Sgt Mtsweni said.
In the meantime, the police managed to arrest three suspect for a hijacking that happened two weeks ago.
“They have appeared before Bethal Magistrate’s Court,” said Sgt Mtsweni.
She said the police are working hard in their fight against crime in eMzinoni.
