Two of the men involved in the murder of Mr Chris Botha, a local lawyer and owner of the Hollow Hog pizza place, were arrested in Siyabuswa on Friday, October 22.
Mr Chris Botha (34) was shot dead inside of his pizza place, Hollow Hog in Extension 22 on May 20 last year.
Mr Botha and his sister, Ms Louri Botha were inside the shop and closing up their business for the day when four masked men entered the shop.
They grabbed Mr Botha and during a struggle, Mr Botha was shot in the back of the head.
The suspects ran away after they shot Mr Botha.
The investigating officer in the case said the police received information that these men were involved in crimes committed in Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga.
One of the suspects, Mr Bongani Maseko, was shot dead in Siyabuswa in November 2020.
According to the investigating officer, it is believed that hitmen were hired to shoot Mr Maseko.
Another suspect, Mr Nkosinathi Thabethe, appeared in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, October 26 and his case was postponed to Wednesday, November 3.
His case was postponed again.
A third suspect was also arrested, but has not yet been charged because he had to appear in another court in connection with other crimes committed in Siyabuswa and other towns.
