
Police are investigating a murder and inquest case after the bodies of a woman (23) and a man (32) were found next to each other in a room at Ext 19, eMbalenhle, on Saturday, January 15.
According to police, the man sustained several bullet wounds and the woman was shot only once.
The man was still alive when the two were found, but died while receiving life support.
A woman who heard a gunshot in the backroom of the house alerted the police.
When the police arrived on the scene, the door was locked and they were forced to break it.
Const Busi Mthethwa, eMbalenhle police spokesperson said police are still investigating and no arrest has been made.
In another incident, a 32-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint in his house at Ext 14 eMbalenhle.
Four men entered his home and demanded money from the victim.
According to police, one of the men held the victim at gunpoint while the others searched his house.
They stole R700 rand and two cellphones.
Police said a case of house robbery was opened and no one has yet been arrested.
