Taxi driver thrown from bridge near eMbalenhle

According to Constable Busi Mthethwa said they were notified by the police dog unit of the man found under the Roodebank Bridge who was injured.

eMBALENHLE- Police in eMbalenhle are investigating the attempted murder of a 42-year-old taxi driver who was thrown from the R547 road bridge onto the R50 road to Standerton on Friday, January 28.

The taxi driver was allegedly arguing with two passengers he took from eMbalenhle at Roodebank.

When the driver stopped, the two passengers allegedly dragged him out of his minibus and threw him off the bridge.

He fell onto the R50 road. He was fortunate that no cars were travelling on the road at that moment.

The man was seriously injured and was rushed to the hospital.

According to Const Busi Mthethwa, members of the police’ dog unit found the victim and alerted the eMbalenhle Police.

She said a docket for attempted murder was opened.
