Kasselman Security Services (KSS) reacted on Wednesday, February 16 after a WhatsApp-alert about a possible truck hijacking on the R546/Vrede Road.
According to KSS, the first reaction officer became aware that the truck driver was possibly held hostage.
Backup units arrived and the truck was stopped.
Two suspects were apprehended at the vehicle and another two arrested with the assistance of the police, Lekwa’s traffic department, AfriForum and community patrol members.
Vrede Sector Security was also on standby to help in the event that the truck and suspects fled towards Vrede.
Standerton Police booked the suspects. They also confiscated a Polo-vehicle.
