Hawks arrest shop manager in Secunda for selling steroids

Numerous steroids to the value of R300 000 were found and confiscated.

Kruger Piater (28), the manager of Muscle Mecca in the Village Centre in Secunda appeared before the Secunda Magistrate’s Court today, Friday March 11, after he was arrested by the Hawks Vereeniging and the Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation Mpumalanga, based in Secunda on Thursday, March 10.

Information was received about a person who is selling medicine in his shop.  

A Project Disprin was registered and the matter was investigated.  

Capt Dineo Sekgotodi, spokesperson for the Hawks in Mpumalanga, sai that during the investigation it was established that the suspect does not have valid document to possess the said medicine.  

The court was consulted and a warrant of search was authorised and executed on Thursday.

Piater was immediately arrested, charged and detained pending his first court appearance.  

He was released on bail of R5 000 and the case was postponed to June 10.
