Ekangala Police arrest woman with unlicensed firearm

Members of the Ekangala Police arrested a 42-year-old woman for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
arrest followed after Relief A members, while on patrol on Friday, March 11, received anonymous information about a woman being in possession of a firearm at her home.
The police acted swiftly and managed to trace the suspect and found her in possession of an unlicensed firearms as well as ammunition.
She appeared at the Ekangala Magistrate’s Court on charges of the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The Ekangala Police head of visible policing, Capt Moses Masondo applauded the Client Service Centre members who put effort into eliminating the scourge of criminality in the area of Ekangala.
“The community is appreciated and encouraged to keep on reporting any form of criminal activity in the area. We assure the community that they will be protected from being victimised for whistle blowing,” said Capt Masondo.
