Christopher Watson, the man accused of the brutal murder of his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, once again briefly appeared in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, March 22.
The case is postponed to Tuesday, April 26, pending further investigation.
Watson’s defence now awaits further instruction from the court.
Watson is facing charges of murder, arson and defeating the ends of justice.
His bail application was abandoned in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on November 17, 2021.
Watson is accused of the murder of Angelique Fourie (27) in her home in a Terra Nova Village complex in Trichardt on November 7.
Her autopsy revealed that she had been stabbed multiple times.
Watson had fled the scene and handed himself over to the Norkem Park Police Station in Kempton Park on November 9, 2021.
He was escorted back to Secunda where he is currently being held at Bethal Prison.
In his recent court appearance, Watson again appeared with a Bible in hand, a cleanly shaved head and a navy blue buttoned-up shirt with a black cross on the back.
When Watson left the stand to go back to his holding cell, he again made brief contact, through touching hands with a loved one who was there to support him.
