eMba Police investigate death of three young people

An inquest case was opened following the discovery of a 21-year-old woman’s body at one of the foot passages in Ext15, eMbalenhle on Saturday morning, March 26.

The police are investigating the deaths of three young people who died in unrelated cases at eMbalenhle in one weekend.

An inquest case was opened following the discovery of a 21-year-old woman’s body at one of the foot passages in Ext15, eMbalenhle on Saturday morning, March 26.

According to Constable Busi Mthethwa, police received information about a woman who was lying in the street at Extension 15 and police rushed to the scene.

Upon their arrival, they called an ambulance.

The woman was certified dead on the scene with no visible injuries on her body. Her family was called to identify her.

A 24-year-old man died later that same day when he was stabbed with a sharp object in the open field at Ext 9.

Mthethwa said community members showed the police the body of a man who was allegedly assaulted and stabbed behind his left ear.

Mthethwa said a murder case was opened and no arrests have yet been made, but the investigation continues.

A 25-year-old man from eMbalenhle died in hospital of gunshot wounds on Sunday, March 27.

According to Mthethwa, they were notified by the hospital about a man who was shot in the shoulder and died upon arrival.

A murder case was opened then a suspect (37) was arrested.

The incident happened next to one of the liquor outlets.
