Woman drowns in Vaal River in Standerton
Divers managed to get the body to the riverbank and covered the woman.
A woman drowned in the Vaal River on Wednesday, April 6 just before 16:00.
According to available information, she jumped from the Meyerville-bridge and the water carried her towards the Paul Kruger-bridge.
Standerton Police, Standerton Emergency Services and Kasselman Security Services were on the scene.
Divers managed to get the body to the riverbank and her body was covered.
Police could not confirm the identity of the deceased on Thursday, April 7.
