Lieut-Gen Manamela wishes Mpumalanga residents a happy and safer Easter weekend

The Provincial Commissioner of Police, Lieut-Gen Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, wished the community of Mpumalanga a happy and safer Easter weekend.

According to a media statement, she has ensured that police are deployed in strategic areas throughout the province so that there would be peace and stability, while at the same time, people would celebrate without any fear or hindrance.

“Mpumalanga is one of the preferred tourist destinations and we expect visitors to come and witness the scenic beauty of our province,” she said.

“Therefore, police are working in collaboration with other law enforcement, agencies should be ready at all times to ensure the safety of our tourists.

“People must feel safe. “Our business community must be protected too.”

The Provincial Commissioner also requested the community to comply with the law, as well as be patient with other road users to avoid unnecessary confrontations.

The liquor business owners must also comply with the regulations and be responsible to ensure the safety of their patrons.
