Six suspects, aged between 15 and 25-years-old, appeared in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, May 5.
The suspects are facing charges of murder, attempted murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
The suspects were arrested by the police in Bethal in connection with a murder that occurred on Saturday, April 30, at a nearby tavern in Bethal.
It is alleged that the group entered a tavern and robbed people of their belongings.
The suspects used knives to stab victims. One victim was fatally injured.
One of the accomplices was also stabbed on his right side below the collarbone.
Emergency medical personnel from Bethal Emergency Medical Services certified the victim dead.
His body was taken to the Bethal government mortuary.
Secunda Criminal Record Centre officials were also summoned to the scene for recording and capturing of the crime scene.
The case has been postponed to May 12, for a legal aid representative.
