Non-profit initiative active at schools in Standerton
The public is encouraged to bring along school shoes, school uniforms, sanitary towels, and a hygiene hamper consisting of a face cloth, roll-on, toothbrush, toothpaste, and body lotion.
The Future Matters, a non-profit initiative, recently held their third charity event at Motswako Lounge,
It was established in 2019 as a response to the ever-present need of supporting and caring for one another as a society.
Their sole purpose is to cultivate a lifestyle of community uplifting by supporting the ones less fortunate through entertainment.
According to the organisation, it is done through hosting of annual charity events where payment for entry is through donations.
The public is encouraged to bring along school shoes, school uniforms, sanitary towels, and a hygiene hamper consisting of a face cloth, roll-on, toothbrush, toothpaste, and body lotion.
These items collected at each event are then donated to schools in and around the Lekwa area.
Three successful events have been held so far, the initial and second event were held in 2019 and 2020 respectively and hosted at Linda’s Lifestyle.
The third event was supposed to be held last year, but due to Covid-19 it was postponed to this year.
Retsibile Primary School, Thandeka Primary School and iGugulabasha Primary School have been beneficiaries.
The organisation thanked Pick n Pay Standerton (CBD franchise), the Angel Khanyile Foundation, Peo Ya Setshaba Foundation, Todavia Beverages, INK Clothing and Black_SAM Clothing for their support, as well as the individuals who have been donating to all events.
The artists and deejays who perform at these events were also thanked.
