Woman found dead next to dam in eMzinoni is not yet identified

“It was difficult for the police to see the colour of her clothes because of the mud. Only the white tekkies she was wearing could be identified.

eMzinoni Police are looking for the next of kin of a woman whose body was found next to the dam at Ext 5 in eMzinoni on Friday, April 1.

According to Sgt Cynthia Mtsweni, eMzinoni Police spokesperson, the public alerted the police of a body that was covered in the mud next to the dam.

Mtsweni said upon police arrival, they discovered that a human body covered in the mud next to the dam. More investigation revealed the body is that of a woman.

Sgt Mtsweni also said paramedics were summoned to the scene and the woman was declared dead.

“It was difficult for the police to see the colour of her clothes because of the mud. Only the white tekkies she was wearing could be identified.

“Her body was taken to a mortuary and no one has yet come to identify her,” said Sgt Mtsweni.

The woman is between the ages of 30 and 40 years.

Sgt Mtsweni said police opened an inquest docket and anyone with the information about the dead woman or her family can contact eMzinoni Police.
