SAVF in Standerton visits Vaal River High School

The SAVF visited Vaal River High School, Standerton on Thursday, June 2 at 10:00 for an informative talk on the challenges that learners face.
Hanlie Brits and Meisie Mazibuko, social workers, as well as Endré Nel from the school, were among the attendees.
A tree, in front of the hall, was hung with placards depicting the factors influencing behaviour.
“The tree symbolises a child and its roots include the family, teachers at school, community leaders, clinics and hospitals,” Mazibuko said.
“A child has to grow up to reach his/her full potential.”
She also referred to the warnings on the placards with drug abuse, alcohol abuse, bullying and teenage pregnancies that can destroy a child’s future.
