Standerton Police bust suspected drug dealers
Police investigated, searched their houses and found different types of drugs.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police, Lieut-Gen Semakaleng Manamela, applauded Standerton Police after the arrest of five suspects during an intelligence-driven operation.
According to a statement dated June 9, Themba Hlongwane (29), Nhlanhla Nyoka (18), Johan Smith (35), Alex Kapp (41) and Moses Ifenaboh (25) appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court last Thursday on various charges including dealing in drugs, possession of drugs as well as possession of suspected stolen property.
They were arrested separately at their places of residence in areas around Standerton.
According to the report, police received information that the suspects were allegedly in possession of drugs.
Police investigated, searched their houses and found different types of drugs.
The suspects were also allegedly dealing in drugs.
Smith and Kapp were further charged with possession of suspected stolen property.
Police confiscated 86 sachets of nyaope, 18 bags of Cat, two bags of crystal methampetamine and one bag of dagga.
The drugs are estimated to be worth about R34 800 in street value.
