UPDATE: Missing Secunda man found

 Hendrik Nienaber was apparently tied up but managed to free himself and find help at a nearby hospital.

 

Hendrik Nienaber has been found

Chantalle Smit, fiancée of Hendrik Nienaber informed Ridge Times that he has been found.

According to Smit, Nienaber was apparently hijacked, tied up and left in a veld near Witbank.

“He eventually managed to untie himself and then walked to nearby hospital, where he asked someone to search for me on Facebook, ” said Smit.

Nienaber then phoned Smit and told her where he was.

“Thank you to everyone who helped in the search,” said Smit.

The couple are heading back to Secunda where Nienaber will consult his doctor.

“The roughed him up,” said Smit about Nienaber’s injuries.

 

Secunda man goes missing on his way to work at Duvha Power Station

Hendrik (Henk) Nienaber of Secunda has disappeared on his way to work at Duhva Power Station at about 07:30 this morning, June 22.

According to his fiancée, Chantalle Smit, Nienaber’s company car was found abandoned near the old Wolwekrans Village close to Witbank.

Smith said the car was found with the keys still in the ignition, and his cell phone and laptop are still in the car.

“The only thing that is missing is his wallet,” Smit told Witbank News and Ridge Times.

She fears that Nienaber had been abducted.

The police’s K9 unit arrived on the scene at about 15:00 this afternoon to help with the search.
