eMbalenhle poet is nominated for award

Local poet, Nkosinathi Hleza, has been nominated as the best upcoming artist and the best indigenous poet for the upcoming South African Traditional Music Awards (SATMA) that will be held in eMalahleni (Witbank) on Saturday, July 30.
Hleza, better known as Nkosinathi Da Poet, encouraged the community to vote for him by sending an SMS to 49495 with the words ‘SATMA, Nkosinathi Da Poet, Best Indigenous Poet’ or ‘SATMA, Nkosinathi Da Poet, Best Upcoming Artist’.
An SMS costs R1.50.
SATMA is in partnership with the Mpumalanga Provincial Government, the SABC Radio and SABC 1.

Da Poet is the founder of and tutor at the eMba Paradise Extra Classes (EPEC) that is affiliated with the NDP (Nkosinathi Da Poet) Foundation.
Portia Qubeka, an actress known for her roles in the soapies, Muvhango and Isidingo, will be visiting EPEC in July and show Da Poet’s learners a few skills of the trade.
Da Poet aims to launch a promotion company in Mpumalanga and he currently gives extra classes to learners from Grade 1 to 12 in Extension 11,14, 22 and Azania.
