Tow-truckers in Secunda donate blood to save lives
Besides emergency response services, towing services get to see the severity of many accidents on our roads every day and can relate to why the demand of blood is so high.
Doing their bit to save lives were GTR/MCR employees who took to the Teks branch at SANBS, on Friday, July 15, to donate blood.
It was the first time for donor Koos Mtsweni and definitely not his last.

Blood transfusion also plays a huge role in treating patients with life-threatening illnesses.
Because blood transfusions can save lives and improve health, the demand is constantly high.
It takes just one donation to save up to three lives.

Minimum requirements to be a blood donor:
* Must be between the ages of 16 and 75 years old, for first-time donors.
* Must weigh a minimum of 50kg (platelets a minimum of 55kg)
* Must be in good health.* Must lead a low-risk lifestyle.
* Must consider your blood safe for transfusion.
