Bronkhorstspruit Regional Court hits rapist with 20 years
The victim was only nine years old when he raped her for the first time.
Ayanda Mkhathini (31) was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years of direct imprisonment for the rape of a minor.
Bronkhorstspruit Regional Court Magistrate Sindi Malinda handed down the sentence on September 20.
Mkhathini raped the victim for the first time in 2006 when she was only nine years old. He again raped and sexually assaulted her in 2019.
Magistrate Malinda sentenced Mkhathini to 20 years imprisonment on two counts of rape and another four years imprisonment for sexual assault.
The sentences will run concurrently. Ben Smith was the prosecutor.
