Del Motors Spares in Secunda is still going strong after 21 years

A milestone of 21 years and still going strong, Del Motor Spares thanked their loyal customers for their continued support throughout the years.
What makes this business what it is today, is its customer base, good service, quality products at affordable prices and experienced staff who are always ready to assist.
A well-known face in the motor spares industry, Eric Thedvall, has made a success of the motor spares businesses in which he partnered in his 40-plus years in the industry.
“Del Motor Spares is still here because of our good service, fair prices, good quality products and our customer base,” said Eric.
The word “Del” in Del Motor Spares, is the initials of the first three shareholders, which were Des, Eric and Lesley when they opened their doors to the public 21 years ago.
Lesley Nadauld passed away in 2015. Currently, Del Motor Spares is under the partnership of Eric, shareholder Desiree Vorster, shareholder Walter Lekhuleni, and Des Nadauld as a retired silent partner.
Other than being a partner in the business, Walter also manages the counters. Del Motors Spares has all your vehicle requirements in parts, accessories, tools and much much more.
“If there are parts or something we don’t have, or don’t have stock of, we will find it,” said Desiree.
Desiree grew up in the motor spares industry spending most of her time after school, at weekends and during school holidays in the store.
Although not the career she wanted to pursue when she finished school, Desiree has always been dedicated and passionate about her work and is a familiar face to the customer base.
Both Desiree and Walter will at a later stage take over the business of Del Motor Spares. Eric had taught many about the industry and some eventually began their own motor spares businesses.

Eric has been in the industry for so long that he has seen his share of older customers passing away or retiring to other provinces or countries.
Del Motor Spares’ trading hours are Mondays to Fridays from 07:30 to 17:30, Saturdays from 08:00 to 13:00, and Sundays and public holidays from 09:00 to 12:00.
Here is to the next 21 years in trading and welcoming both old and new customers.
