Clerk at court in Standerton convicted on theft
Sibongile was sentenced to 36 months imprisonment wholly suspended for period of five years.
Another employee in the judicial system came up against the long arm of the law.
Makhubo Sibongile (47), a former clerk at Standerton District Court, was recently convicted on two counts of theft.
Sibongile was sentenced to 36 months imprisonment, suspended for a period of five years.
A few months ago, Aaron Pule Mohanwe was found guilty and sentenced to several years imprisonment.
He was a control prosecutor at Standerton Magistrate’s Court.
Mohanwe was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment on a charge of corruption, 10 years imprisonment on a charge of fraud and another seven years on a charge of defeating the ends of justice.
Capt Gibi Mtsweni, communications officer of Standerton Police, said the sentences will run concurrently.
