Criminals poison dogs and chickens in Evander

According to the police, a gate motor was stolen.

Criminals poisoned dogs and many chickens in an attempt to burgle a house in Evander on Monday morning, October 10.

According to Sergeant Zukiswa Mxhotjelwa, the Evander Police’s communication officer and social crime prevention, the burglars stole the gate motor.

Mxotjelwa said when police arrived on the scene in Frankfort Street, they were shown two dead dogs and many chickens that had allegedly been poisoned.

She said the criminals cut the raiser fence to enter the yard. Mxotjelwa said the incident was reported but a case has not been opened and no one has been arrested.

She said burglaries and theft from inside houses are rife in Evander. She warned the community to be vigilant as the festive season approaches.
