Residents engage in revival of Cultura Park CPF

The office of the Station Commander for the Bronkhorstspruit Police, Colonel Maqhawe Simon Dhladhla, together with the Visible Policing Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mlaba, the Social Crime Prevention office and the Community Policing Forum (CPF) chairperson embarked on a community engagement. The meeting took place in Cultura Park on Sunday, October 23.
“The purpose of the engagement was to meet and greet the residents of Cultura Park and to also revive the CPF sub-sector forum in Cultura Park,” said Constable Cathrine Ramovha, communication officer for the Bronkhorstspruit Police.
“The role of the CPF is to make the needs of the community known to the police and to help the police meet those needs which will in turn promote trust, accountability, transparency and effectiveness in trying to eliminate crime,” said Dhladhla.
“The CPF is a bridge which joins the police and the community and is very important,” Dhladhla added.
Dhladhla said the CPF together in collaboration with the police should fight and displace problematic crimes such as residential burglaries and assaults.
He explained to the residents how the complaints system works and emphasized that in terms of the reaction time if the community do not get assistance, they must ask the CSC/Relief Commander to assist.

Dhladhla also shared his anti-corruption strategy with the residents and he pleaded with the residents to assist him in fighting corruption.
The residents agreed to call a separate meeting for the Cultura Park CPF Sub-sector forum elections.
“The residents of Cultura Park really appreciated the initiative and they are looking forward to holding hands with the police in fighting crime,” Ramovha concluded.
