Sasol women’s team claims victory against Mkhondo Eagles

In matches played against Mkhondo Eagles Women’s Cricket Club, the Sasol’s Women’s team came out victorious at their home ground in two Gert Sibande T20 games on Sunday, October 30.

Despite a late start to the first game, Sasol Women won the toss and opted to bat first.

Sasol Women ended on 86/2 in 13.0 overs. Top scorer Mariska Scholtz ended on 29 runs off 25 balls not out and Elizma Heydenrich ended on 20 runs off 17 balls not out.

Captain Terry-Lee Kleynhans scored three runs off 15 balls. She was caught by Slindile Mlotshwa and bowled by Sihle Mamba.

Chelize Willemse was bowled by Andiswa Mngomezulu leaving the pitch on 20 runs off 25 balls.

Sasol Women came out balls blazing in the second innings with Mkhondo Eagles Women defeated on a total of 46 runs all out in 12.5 overs.

Sasol women won by 40 runs.

In the second match played, Sasol Women once again won the toss and this time opted to bowl first.

Mkhondo Eagles Women ended the first innings on a total of 76/8 in 20 overs.

However, it was the Sasol Women who came out tops in a victorious win of 77/6 in 18.1 overs and won by four wickets.

Not out was Meenal Manga who scored 24 runs off 40 balls. Manga managed to score three fours in the second innings.

Kleynhans also ended the second innings not out scoring 14 runs off 12 balls. She also scored two fours.
