HPHS U14 netball girls shine at Mpumalanga League Championships
Highveld Park High School U14 Netball girls ended fifth in the Mpumalanga B League Championships held in Ermelo on June 3.
Highveld Park High School’sU14 netball players who ended fifth in the Mpumalanga B League Championships held at Hoërskool Ermelo on June 3.
In their first match played against Rob Ferreira High School, the girls came out tops beating them 8-3. However, the second match was not in their favour with Lydenburg High School beating HPHS 4-7.
This did not stop HPHS U14 from going through to the quarter-finals, and then went up against Middelburg High School and lost 4-15.
The girls then played against Piet Retief and won 6-5 and then went through to the semi-finals.
It was the final that counted and put the team in fifth place in the championships when going against Cambridge and beating them with a nail-biting end score of 8-7.
In the Small School Gert Sibande Schools Netball League, the U16 team ended second, with the first team ending fourth and the U15s ending in second place.
