41 participants brave the cold and mist at Standerton River Park

Siyabonga Kamhelo crossed the finish line in a time of 17:54, followed by Bongane Kamhelo, who ran a time of 19:07.

Run director, Charl van Wyk did the countdown for the parkrun in swirling mist on June 24 at 08:00.

Altogether 41 participants arrived at the Standerton River Park, with three athletes improving their times and two newcomers.

Omran Marzugi achieved a new personal best of 23:27, with Parth Jayram completing the distance in 29:50.

Daleney Grobbelaar recorded a time of 27:32 and Pieter Grobbelaar competing for the 100th time, coming in at 27:50.

Thikolelwi Mudau ended with a time of 29:28 in his 50th event, followed by JD van Niekerk’s 31:07 and Frans Vermaak’s 32:11.


This group make their way in the parkrun on June 24.

Johan Bouillon registered a time of 34:17, followed by Sibusiso Dlangalala’s 35:59 and Sangeeta Daya’s 36:45 in his 50th event.

Jennifer Naidoo, Johannes Vosloo, Krishnalal Ramdharee, Leandri van Wyk, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Lydia Roets, Jean Robertson, Priscilla Ramdharee, Renette de Sousa, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg and Zeldine Strydom took up positions to ensure a safe and smooth event.
