Sevens rugby hosted at Sasol Recreational Club in Secunda
Both boys and girls competed in the third Annual Heritage Rugby Tournament in Secunda on September 23.
The third Annual Heritage Rugby Tournament was hosted at the Sasol Recreational Club in Secunda on September 23.
Boys and girls from eMbalenhle, Bethal, Standerton, and other towns competed in this tournament for the top spots.
In the semi-finals, the girls’ U16 team MD took on Sidlamafa and came out victorious 26–0. The Steelcrest girls faced Buhle in the other sem-final, losing 21-19.
In the boy’s U16 semi-finals, Thobelani beat MD 26–0. Sidlamafa beat MP Magagula 22–7 to face Thobelani in the finals.
Local lads eMbalenhle U18 boys played Thobelani, winning the semi-final 45–0. AD thrashed Khethelo 70–0.
In the boys U13 finals, MD. was crowned the winners by beating Langelihle 14–7. In the girl’s U16 division, MD beat Buhle in the finals 18-7
Sidlamafa beat Thobelani 47–0 in the boys U16 finals. eMbalenhle U18 boys were crowned winners by beating AD 31-7.
Final scores for the U14 and U18 girls were not available at the time of print. Buhle won the U14 division and the U18 girls winners were Steelcrest.
