Fighters from Secunda excel in their bouts
David 'The Wolf' Makane and Siya 'The Chef' Nonvemve at the EFC pros and Tico 'The Sniper' van den Berg at the amateur event were on fire last week.
Fighters from Dominators Den triumphed over their opponents at top-notch events on March 7 and 9.
David ‘The Wolf’ Makane and Siya ‘The Chef’ Nonvemve were on fire in the ring at the EFC Pro contest at Performance Institute in Sandton on March 7.
Makane was on the attack throughout the three rounds against Lihle Ngamntwini in the flyweight division.
A unanimous decision placed Makane as the winner of the bout.
Nonvemve dominated his light heavyweight fight, forcing his opponent into verbal submission in the second round.
The amateur clashes at the Versus event in the Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria on March 9 highlighted Secunda’s Tico ‘The Sniper’ van den Berg.
He beat André Kapp with a technical knockout in the second round of the light heavyweight division fight.
Dominators Den’s juniors, Willem Steyn, Izak Botha and Sharl Booysen represented Secunda in the grappling bouts that morning.
Willem clinched a silver medal and Izak a bronze. Coach Cedric Doyle said his fighters’ performances were excellent.
“I am super proud of all of them. I thank the Lord for their talent and the chance to display it,” said Doyle.
