Goldi 4 -1 marathon in Standerton attracts athletes from all over

At least 900 athletes, including the fun run participants, entered.

Anticipation and excitement were palpable at the Goldi 4-1 marathon on March 21 when Manus Mentz from the marathon club lined up the athletes before 06:00.

Many vehicles with GP registration numbers were seen on Von Bachström and Berg streets at Hoërskool Standerton.

At least 900 athletes, including the fun run participants, entered. Some rain fell a bit later but did not deter the participants.

Goldi had a water point as well.

The Standerton Advertiser went en route and noticed some smiling faces on Paarl and Berg streets. The traffic was regulated at the crossing of Berg and Baumann streets.
