Secunda Mall honours tenants

Marthelene and Riaan Jonker, the Cappuccinos owners, were bestowed with a trophy, certificate and flowers as the mall's tenant of the year.

Cappuccinos won the tenant of the year award at the Secunda Mall’s annual awards evening held at Symphony’s on April 25.

This, the mall’s highest honour, recognises the tenant who excels across multiple criteria, demonstrating exceptional commitment, innovation, and success in the mall.

The guests dressed up for this gala event, were wined and dined, and treated to a live performance by Refentse, the darling of Afrikaans music lovers.

Freddie Kruger, the manager of Checkers Hyper, collected his store’s award as the people’s choice.

The winner of this award was determined by popular vote.

It celebrates the tenant who has gained the most positive feedback and support from shoppers and fellow tenants. It reflects a store’s overall favourability and popularity.

Ackermans won the good neighbour award, with Game as the runner-up.


Exact won the award for the most improved store.

Bathu was acknowledged as the tenant with the most valuable contribution to mall activities.

Toys R Us was the runner-up in this category. Lovisa won the award for best shop front.

Dynamic Vision was honoured for its excellence in customer service, while Foschini was awarded for excellence in training and development.

Exact received the award for the most improved store. The mall ambassador of the year is Husain Fragrance.
