Accident in Standerton sends paramedic to hospital

He was in the first responder ambulance going to Gert Sibande College, where a student had apparently fallen from a flight of stairs, when the ambulance and a Ford Raptor collided at the intersection of Caledon and Kruger streets.

A paramedic for the provincial emergency services was injured in a collision near the Standerton Hospital on May 10.

The ambulance rolled into a tree on the sidewalk.

According to the paramedic’s colleagues on the scene, he was taken to hospital with possible back injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was not seriously injured.

All Star Towing removed the wreckages.
