First-timer comes first in Standerton parkrun

Clayton Schreuder, was first to cross the finish line with a time of 23:08.

The 252nd River Park parkrun kicked off with a bang on July 6. Three participants improved their personal best times, and one new face joined the run.

The first-timer, Clayton Schreuder, was first to cross the finish line with a time of 23:08. Timothy Hoop finished in 23:35, followed by Eugene Viljoen, who beat his personal best with 26:52.

Parth Jayram completed his 122nd parkrun in 30:16, followed by Jose Joseph (31:23), Thikolelwi Collins Madau (32:01) and Andrew Ainsworth (32:04).

Dina Oberholzer crossed the finish line at 34:05. Reanetse Given bettered his PB with a time of 36:16, and Koketjo Kekana finished his run with a new personal best of 39:25.

The volunteers who made this event possible are Johann Vosloo, Johannes Vosloo, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Marjorie Uys, Mauritz Zwarts, Renette de Sousa, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Willy Smith and Zeldine Strydom.

The parkrun takes place every Saturday at 08:00 at the Standerton River Park.
