Parkrunners in Standerton dash in pink!

Parkrunners looked pretty in pink this past Saturday as these runners took on the 5km dash.

In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 81 Standerton River Park parkrunners dusted off their brightest pink running shoes.

In this tribute to breast cancer survivors, five runners reached new personal best times and five new runners took on the dash for the first time.

Mthokizisi Tshwala finished the run first at 20:14, followed by Marno Oosthuizen (21:47) and Timothy Hoop (23:47).

Eugene Viljoen completed the route at 24:52.


He gives a thumbs up for fitness.

Reneilwe Tsotetsi (26:09) followed, then Pieter Grobbelaar (27:16), Ayanda Dlamini (27:50), Jyoti Daya (28:39) and Daleney Grobbelaar (28:40).

Sanele Mkhaliphi achieved a new personal best time of 28:53. Wikus Pretorius finished the run in 29:18.

The volunteers who made this event possible are Charl van Wyk, Conrie Roets, Elmien Vermaak, Jennifer Naidoo, Leandri van Wyk, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Lydia Roets, Marjorie Uys, Noluthando Zweni, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Strini Naidoo, Willy Smith and Zeldine Strydom.
