Dam levels in Mpumalanga have dropped to an average of 80%
The Department of Water and Sanitation released a media statement calling the public to be more conservative in their water use as Mpumalanga water levels have dropped to 80%.
According to the statement released on October 28, the average dam levels have dropped from 80.6% to 80.0%.
The average water levels in the Gert Sibande district dropped from 80.5% to 80.0%. Grootdraai Dam dropped from 72.1% to 71.3%, and Vygeboom Dam dropped from 91.9% to 91.4%.
Jericho Dam dropped from 68.0% to 67.4% and Morgenstond dropped from 69.7% to 68.4%. Heyshope dropped from 96.0% to 95.7%.
The Department of Water and Sanitation urges the public to conserve water and use the available supply wisely.
